Corona, although still active and occasionally annoying at home, shows her old age at the dog park when a fellow Dogo Argentino wants to play.  Jemma, still a puppy at 8 months, wants nothing more than to play with another dog and displays the infamous "I wanna play" stance while Corona turns her head to the people.

Going on five years old Corona’s showing the energy loss although she never admits defeat and will always try to keep up. 

With the humid and hot weather Isaac’s Dog Run Park is a treat for our Dogo just to get some breeze over her skin and through her short fur so she’s not too much for running until she’s cooled down enough in the water.  Although even just the fresh air and smells are enough to tire her out and have her sleep soundly.

We’ll definitely be back and Corona will be happy to feel the breeze and smell what dogs it brings.

A wonderful day at Isaac’s Dog Run in Riverview where Corona was met by Jemma, the other Dogo of the province, and the Bull Terrier known as Hugo! 

Often finding new water intimidating (and it’s always new to Corona after 6 months of being dry), our Dogo Argentino wasn’t more excited than the moment she realized she could swim again.  And then when Jemma jumped right in and went after a ball Corona was all flippers.

Corona enjoyed the thought of being invited to playing with another dog but when she saw two playful ones she was ecstatic.  Although these dogs owners were hesitant at introducing their Bull Terrier, Hugh, to another Dogo Argentino the dogs quickly established their territories and all was well.

In fact, things were much better than well as each dog was delighted to chase each other around the yard with the only things in their way being us and the house.  Oblivious to all else, including exhaustion, these three were happy to just be dogs and not cooped up inside.

This burst of exercise certainly made Corona sleep well that night and we assume the other two dogs were pretty lazy afterwards, too.  When we upload the videos you may be surprised to know that Corona is years older than the others as she certainly doesn’t show it with her stamina.  But that’s for next time…

Corona has only ever met another Dogo Argentino when it was her parents and she a pup.  We were thrilled when a friend of a friend decided to adopt a Dogo but Corona was still not sure… until they met.

They were both extremely shy at first but once they realized how fast each of them could run they became quick  friends.  Jemma being only seven months old is not quite used to being a runner yet but will learn quickly being taught by our dog.  There should be some amateur footage of these two on the site very soon so I welcome you to come back (as always).

Although we haven’t yet had the opportunity to meet her Corona, Paul and I just know this dog will be a pleasure to have as a “little sister” for Corona.  Excited not only to have her meet our Dogo but also Russ we are anxious for the opportunity to have this group of friends over.

Pixie is a very lucky puppy that was recently adopted by Louise, Devin and family of cats and is very blessed because of it.  She is only seven weeks and has a whole lot of play in her but there are some lessons to learn as well.

Corona wishes Pixie will get her sleep now so that when they do meet she’ll be full of energy and ready for Corona’s challenge.  She just can’t wait to go on her first walk with the little one and begin to watch her grow as big as she can grow.
